So you just moved into your beautiful, new home. Exciting! But as it sometimes happens, you haven’t picked out your window coverings just yet, or perhaps need to save up for the purchase. As the summer sun shines in through the naked windows and causes your air conditioner to work overtime, you may be tempted to hang sheets up…have no fear, I found a cool, very inexpensive solution that I used in my own home.
Having just moved into a “fixer upper”, I needed to keep that hot afternoon sun from super heating my home. I was checking out the mini blind section of my local Home Depot, when I discovered some paper blinds…yes, I said it…paper. There were 6 common sized blinds per box and cost under $10.00 per box! Seriously? These blinds were easily installed and at least kept out the hot sun until my wife and I could purchase some nice coverings. Oh, and by the way, they actually looked pretty good!
